How the Co-Contribution Works
The government co-contribution is a scheme to help lower-income earners boost their super. Here's the deal:

Contribute $1,000 to get the maximum $500 (if income allows)

Full benefit if income under $49,293, phases out at $64,293

Eligibility Requirements
Income under $64,293
Total income (assessable + reportable fringe benefits + reportable super)
At least 10% from employment or business
Can't be entirely investment or passive income
Lodge a tax return
ATO pays co-contribution after processing your return
Under 71 at end of financial year
Must be under 71 on 30 June of the relevant year
TSB under $2.1 million
Total Super Balance at 30 June prior year
Don't claim a deduction
The contribution must be non-concessional (after-tax)
