How the Spouse Tax Offset Works
When you contribute to your spouse's super, you may be able to claim a tax offset on your own tax return. Here's how it works:

Eligibility Requirements
You and your spouse are Australian residents
Both must be residents for tax purposes
Your spouse is under 75
Must be under 75 at the time the contribution is made
Your spouse's TSB is under $2.1 million
They must be eligible to receive non-concessional contributions
You didn't claim a tax deduction on the contribution
The contribution must be non-concessional (after-tax)
