NSW Concessions Guide
State concessions for health care card holders in New South Wales
This guide covers the main concessions available to Pensioner Concession Card (PCC), Health Care Card (HCC), and DVA card holders in New South Wales. Each concession has its own eligibility rules and caps.
1. Motor Vehicle Registration

- ExcludesCompulsory Third Party (CTP) insurance - you still pay this
- LimitOne vehicle per eligible person
⚠️ Eligibility Note
Free vehicle registration in NSW is for those receiving Age Pension, Disability Support Pension, or Carer Payment. Holding a Pensioner Concession Card alone doesn't qualify you - you must be receiving one of these payments. LIHCC, HCC, and CSHC holders are not eligible.
2. Energy Concessions

ℹ️ Additional Energy Rebates
NSW also offers:

3. Council Rates

⚠️ Important: Ambulance Cover in NSW
Unlike Victoria and Queensland, NSW does not provide automatic free ambulance cover for PCC holders. You may wish to consider ambulance cover through private health insurance or NSW Ambulance membership.
7. Other NSW Concessions
Additional concessions may be available for eligible cardholders:
- Free driver licence
- Discounts at National Parks
- Discounts on various government services
